Effect Of Leadership Traits On Employee Performance Commerce Essay
Inside each organization a pioneer is required. Once in a while much more than one, when an organization has developed and accordingly exists out of numerous divisions. These pioneers are of import since they give the organization an approach to caput to, and show the workers to make this in the most ideal way. Especially when an organization has just been begun, it is extremely of import to do sure that everybody does his absolute best and knows unequivocally what to make so as to reduce the chance of disappointment of the new pursuit. Past research has indicated that business frames a significant part of each financial framework from numerous points of view ( Van Praag and A ; Versloot, 2007 ) . For representation, the producing of business ( Sutton, 1997 ) , financial developing through enterprise ( Carry and A ; Thurik, 2003 ) , the significance of little and normal measured houses partner to innovation ( Biggs, 2002 ) and monetary worth inventive action ( Parker, 2004 ) . Consequently, it is extremely of import to cognize each piece much about this entire method as could reasonably be expected. This can just loan to expanding the per centum of effectively began adventures. Because of the monetary emergency in 2009, the per centum of disappointments in new pursuits has been truly elevated ( Graydon, 2010 ) . As this has extraordinary impacts for the financial framework, it is of import that this per centum goes down in the coming mature ages. A bunch of research has just been done on this subject, yet clear grou nds on driving in mix with enterprisers that start up another organization is as yet losing. So as to obtain to cognize progressively about the main of enterprisers, this examination is focused on the enterprisers in Amsterdam who have just begun their ain organization. The exploration is done to obtain an answer to the request of what driving attributes lead to the greatest chance of passing on the new dare to a triumph. In Amsterdam, there are a clump of new businesses each twelvemonth and along with the simple handiness to these enterprisers and their organizations ; this environing signifiers a remarkable chance to make inquire about in. Ideally this overview prompts an all the more away from on the achievement characteristics of enterprisers who need to move each piece heads as great in passing on their new businesses to a triumph. The accompanying region, which is the hypothetical model, will talk the bing writing on driving characteristics, the highlights that recognize an enterpriser from a non-business visionary and ongoing writing on driving joined with business. Segment three is the methodological investigation region and talks about everything that is of import in making this exploration. For representation, the examination technique that is heading out to be utilized, and the highlights of the research.Theoretical model2.1 LeadershipIn the days gone by, there have been 100s of articles composed on driving. In the 1950 ââ¬Ës, Bales put together his examination with respect to the separation between two distinctive driving assaults, viz. : task-situated way and the relationally arranged way. The assignment arranged way is as often as possible related with the ââ¬Ëinitiation of development ââ¬Ë as development was what it was about. The relationally situated way is connected with thought, and depen ded on normal associations with followings, etc ( Eagly and A ; Johannesen-Schmidt, 2001 ) . Later on, inquire about was habitually focused on the separation among equitable and bossy driving ( Vroom and A ; Yetton, 1973 ) and in this manner separated pioneers who permitted followings to participate in assurance conceiving and the individuals who did non ( Eagly and A ; Johannesen-Schmidt, 2001 ) . Consumes ( 1978 ) contended that some of import driving characteristics were losing. Three new kinds of driving were perceived. The transformational pioneer was individual who represented individualized thought, reasonable incitement, moving intention and glorified impact ( Saunders et al. , 2007 ) . The second kind was the value-based pioneer, individual who brought the unexpected wages framework, to only respect followings on the off chance that they had performed great bounty, and just changed something when it accomplished non work, which was called course by prohibition ( Saunders et al. , 2007 ) . The last sort was the Individualistic pioneer. This pioneer was individual who likely did non hold sufficient achievements or thought process and in this manner abstained from doing judgments and being capable. Aside from spliting pioneers into the habits they follow, the can be separated on driving characteristics. There are other than numerous surveies focused on the highlights of individuals that make them a pioneer. Albeit none of these outcomes were exactly the equivalent, the most articles came to the comparable highlights that separate a pioneer from individual who is non. Stogdill ( 1974 ) and House and A ; Baetz ( 1979 ) demonstrated that pioneers will in general be higher in ( 1 ) insight, ( 2 ) laterality, ( 3 ) confirmation, ( 4 ) vitality and ( 5 ) cognizance of the endeavor than non-pioneers. All through these surveies, the a large portion of import request was what the majority of import highlights of a conceived pioneer are. In any case, look into other than indicated that it is non about holding these highlights, yet how to use them in a way that makes you adequate as a pioneer. Thusly, Kouzes and Posner ( 2007 ) researched on the main conduct and found that this conduct ca n be distinguished through five variables, viz. ( 1 ) vitalizing a dream that is shared, ( 2 ) designing the way, ( 3 ) advancing the chest of the followings, ( 4 ) contesting the system and ( 5 ) empowering others to move. Various sorts of endeavors much of the time request distinctive pioneer highlights and practices. In this way it is of import that a pioneer realizes how to suit to specific fortunes. This makes him other than his followings and subsequently individual with whom they can cooperate. Fiedler ( 1967 ) contends through his inevitability hypothesis that a definitive driving conduct is needy upon the situation. Along these lines, Fiedler has other than expressed that experience is a greater amount of import than knowledge in some hard condition of affairss. This implies pioneers other than develop as they increase working experience, and use this involvement with condition of affairss that require more than unconditioned qualities. This is extremely of import on account of the way that the pioneer impacts a wide range of representative factors like authoritative committedness, occupation fulfillment, open introduction, etc. ( Kouzes and A ; Posner, 2007 ) . Research done on driving shares a bunch of things for all intents and purpose with examine in different Fieldss. One representation is the examination on qualities of a particular kind of person. This exploration is other than done in the field of workers as followings of pioneers, yet close to for delineation the highlights of representatives in mix with occupation fulfillment and hierarchical committedness. Another outline is investigate on highlights of individuals with respect to working-gatherings or calling bearing. One of the most comparative sorts of research contrasted with surveies on driving is the examination on enterprisers. What are the attributes of an existent enterpriser? For what reason would one say one is enterpriser increasingly fruitful so another? In a group of ways this examination is comparable.2.2 EntrepreneurshipThe inquire about on enterprise and driving is extremely comparable from multiple points of view ( Ensley et al. , 2006 ) . The aspect that is most comparative is the chase for attributes that makes individual great and effective in his capacity. This kind of research is known as the ââ¬Å" qualities assault â⬠. All through the mature ages, a group of research was done on two aspects inside this attributes assault. The primary feature is the outcome of the situation on enterprisers ( for example Kirzner, 1997 ) or pioneers ( for example Wofford and Liska, 1993 ) and the second aspect is the conduct of enterprisers ( for example Shaver and Scott, 1991 ) or pioneers ( for example Bass, 1990 ) . Only like with a pioneer, an enterpriser other than impacts the open introduction of his association. He can be the 1 who has the effect among progress and disappointment of the new pursuit. Some examination laborers state this is because of his highlights that separate him from others, for example, chance taking inclining ( Stewart and A ; Roth, 2001 ) , high self-viability ( Chen, Greene and A ; Crick, 1998 ) or to recognize chances that others do non ( Alvarez and A ; Busenitz, 2001 ) . In any case, other research laborers state that it is because of the conduct of the enterpriser that worries increment the chances to win, so how he utilizes these highlights ( Bass, 1990 ) . Either way, a cluster of similitudes are found among pioneers and enterprisers, which makes it intriguing to break down the blend of the two.2.3 Uniting driving with entrepreneurshipAs pioneers and enterprisers share a clump for all intents and purpose, it is non an amazement to cognize that the two can be joi ned. Actually, look into has demonstrated that being a pioneer while get bringing down another endeavor, and subsequently being an enterpriser, is of import so as to procure the most out of the organization. As expressed above, pioneers can follow up on aspects, for example, the thought process, productiveness, and committedness of workers and in this manner follow up on the general open introduction ( Kouzes and A ; Posner, 2007 ) . As enterprisers are relying, all things considered, upon the workers in the first place phase of the new pursuit, it is of import to pass on up the best out of these representatives ( aëâ â ¦ . ) . Various sorts of pioneers have various types of impact on their followings. This is an of import thing to keep up in head while making research. Each sort of driving has its ain points of interest and inconveniences and in this way react diverse to a particular situation. For representation, transformational and attractive driving are habitually identified with a superior open introduction of workgroups and associations ( Saunders et al. , 2007 ) . Another delineation is that a transformational pioneer needs to be viewed as ââ¬Ëthe extraordinary pioneer ââ¬Ë and does non pay any taking care of the situation or his followings,

I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. To begin with, cities offer a great environment for raising children, and I am a person who values family above all else. Urban areas have numerous parks and recreation centers which encourage children to lead vital and healthy lives, and they also have well-funded co mmunity centers which contribute to the intellectual development of young people. My own experience demonstrates the value of such facilities. Both my husband and I work full time jobs, and are not home when our two sons finish school. This is not a problem, though, as both of them go directly to a local community center when their classes are over. Our eldest son participates in a computer club there, while our youngest son practices photography. Their participation in these programs sets my mind at ease, as without access to the community center they would just sit at home all alone. This situation compares favorably to a friend of mine who lives in a small town and recently had to hire an expensive babysitter to watch her children when they get home from school, as she was not able to locate any meaningful activities for them to take part in. Secondly, large cities offer cultural experiences that adults can enjoy and appreciate. Most major cities have a plethora of museums, ethni c restaurants, libraries, theater groups and other stimulating and cosmopolitan facilities. My city is no exception. For instance, my colleagues and I spend every Friday evening visiting a new ethnic restaurant for dinner. Over the past three months we have enjoyed food from more than a dozen different national cuisines. Meanwhile, my sons and I go to a different museum once a month and I have found that I enjoy our visits almost as much as they do. These are the sort of outings that are only possible in a heavily-populated urban area. Small towns offer easy access to beautiful natural scenery, but I prefer the intellectual and cultural stimulation that my city offers. In conclusion, I am of the opinion that living in a large city is preferable to living in a small town. This is because cities are better places to raise children, and because they offer stimulating intellectual and cultural experience that grown-ups can enjoy.NoteThis is a sample TOEFL paired choice essay written by a native speaker. My Experiences After Attending The Practice Of Public...
Reflective Assignment This paper discusses my experiences after attending the Practice of Public Health Leadership (PPHL) subject in 2015, reflecting on important lessons learnt, the relevance to my work and the support required for my improvement. When I enrolled in this PPHL, I was not sure that I will get the best out of the subject due to previous experiences of attending theoretical leadership trainings. However, at the end of the subject, I was challenged, groomed, humbled and inspired as a leader. The subject has helped more to bring a lot out of myself, stimulated the urge for personal authenticity and an appreciation of the power of vulnerability in leadership. Through personal interactions with other students and presenters as well as the group activities, I have realised that the success of the team depends on recognising each otherââ¬â¢s strengths and complementing on the weaknesses. In addition, I have learnt that effective leadership depends on team work, incorporating people with different skills and abilities. I have learnt the importance of personal reflection and meditation in leadership. Furthermore, taking time to know myself or who I am, has been one of the great lessons from this subject. It has enabled me to focus on the roles of a leader instead of striving to do everything myself as the case before. In addition, learning the skills of gaining the trust of the people you are leading as well as inspiring them was a remarkable lesson. Care Plan- Dehydration- Nursing Free Essays
A 5 year old girl Jenny has presented to the Emergency Department with her mother, she is suffering from a variety of symptoms including wheezing and vomiting, a dry mouth, and a temperature of 39. 7 degrees Celsius. Vomiting is when the person is excreting all food from there stomach via the mouth using forces from the oesophagus and stomach (Hockenberry Wilson, 2007). We will write a custom essay sample on Care Plan- Dehydration- Nursing or any similar topic only for you Order Now The rationale for choosing this symptom is that vomiting is a clear sign that the body is trying to get rid of a pathogen, with a large amount of vomiting the body is losing valuable nutrition and electrolytes, and will fail to function properly (Britt, 2007). If left untreated vomiting can cause children to lose a lot of fluids and become dehydrated (Van Rensburg, 2009). Dry mouth is known as Xerostomia it is a common problem, and is usually caused by systematic disease and decreased salivary flow, Dry mouth can be a sign of Dehydration (Turner Ship, 2007). The rational for choosing dry mouth is important as it represents fluid depletion in the body, without this fluid the cells cannot function properly; it needs to be treated, to ensure fluid levels are raised. A temperature of 39. 7 is the bodyââ¬â¢s internal area rising, due to the body trying to fight of an infection. The rational for choosing this symptom is that the temperature needs to be back in normal ranges for the body to carry out normal functions, a temperature of 39. 7 puts the body in shock and can cause things such as fainting, low blood pressure and even seizures (Hockenberry Wilson, 2008). The Pathophysiology of Vomiting is induced by the stomach muscles pushing bolos of food from the stomach to the oesophagus. When the stomach becomes full with gastric material, the muscles of the abdomen and the diaphragm contract (Hockenberry Wilson, 2008). The oesophageal sphincter then opens and all the contents are removed from the mouth. An area in the brain called the postrema which is found in the fourth ventricle is thought to stimulate chemoreceptors which induce vomiting (Van Rensburg, 2009). The Vagus cranial nerve becomes active when the pharynx is disturbed, this causes a gag reflex; this can then lead to the stomach wanting to remove all of its contents, or can occur after a vomiting episode. The Sympathetic nervous system is also used when vomiting occurs as the body naturally begins to sweat and heart rate will rise (McCance, Huether, Brashers, Rote, 2010). Salivary glands will work overtime to produce more saliva to help protect the enamel on teeth. Retching can occur when a person is vomiting. When the intrathoracic muscles contract rapidly without notice, the food is trying to escape is pushed up, if the glottis is not completely closed this will push the air through and cause a disturbing sound which is known as retching(McCance, Huether, Brashers, Rote, 2010). This sound alone can trigger vomiting as it helps the body to build up enough pressure to be able to remove all the contents of the stomach in one go. The pathophysiolgy of Dry mouth occurs when the submandibular and sublingual salivary glands stop producing enough salvia within the mouth, a variety of medications can cause this too occur, along with Sjorenââ¬â¢s Syndrome and old age (Turner Ship, 2007). When a dry mouth occurs the mucosa is stimulated and this signals the salivary responses in the medulla. The efferent nerve releases acetylcholine in the salivary gland terminals which trigger the release and flow of saliva (Turner Ship, 2007). If left untreated dry mouth can cause a lot of problems with tooth decay as the teeth have no protection from food and debris (Strube, 1994). The pathophisolgy of a high temperature or fever in a child is a problem in itself, it shows that the body is under a lot of pressure to fight of a pathogen (Cohee, Crocetti, Serwin, Sabath Kapoor, 2010), the body can have various amounts of temperatures changes throughout a day, this is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre which is located in the anterior hypothalamus within the body. The thermostat is set at a normal temperature usually of 37. (Crisp and Taylor, 2007), when this is risen the body will naturally try and get it back down to the normal temperature, usually by sweating or shivering (Crisp Taylor, 2009). The brain stem and thermoregulatory mechanisms adjust to the change in heat production, this can occur during a fever. A Fever begins when a pyrogen, which is a substance that causes a fever, when the hypothalamus notices a change in the core body temperature vasoconstriction will occur which reduces heat loss throughout the skin and will cause the person to feel cold (McCance, Huether, Brashers, Rote, 2010). Shivering will then occurs and the movement produces energy, this is why when a child has a fever they often feel hot and cold flushes (Crisp Taylor, 2009). Vomiting will have a major psychological effect on the client because they cannot socialise with friends or leave the house for long periods of time. They tend not to eat or drink as they think they will be sick, this can lead to malnutrition and anorexia (Davis, Lake-Bakaar, Grahame-Smith, 2003). Vomiting can cause tooth decay in the client, due to the production of stomach acid in the mouth. This can cause people to lose self confidence in their appearance (McCance, Huether, Brashers, Rote, 2010). When you vomit the sympathetic nervous system is activated and you begin to sweat, this can also be embarrassing side effect. Dry Mouth causes many psychological effects for an individual because with a dry mouth you find it hard to talk as the tongue does not move easily (Turner Ship, 2007). The individual would not eat out very often as they find it hard to chew and swallow food; this causes them to take longer when eating. Dry mouth is usually associated with cracked and dry lips this can cause the client to become embarrassed about their looks (Turner Ship, 2007). Dry mouth can cause bad breath as there isnââ¬â¢t any saliva to remove food and debris from the teeth and tongue (Turner Ship, 2007); this prevents the individual from socialising which can cause a loss in social skills. Bad breathe can also make the person feel embarrassed and lose intimacy with their partner; this can then cause relationship problems and breakdown. Having a fever can cause many physiological problems for a person; they do not have any energy to do normal everyday activities, such as socialising, sport, even to get out of bed (Hockenberry Wilson, 2007). The individual often will have hot and cold flushes this causes then to become uncomfortable when being out in public (Hockenberry Wilson, 2008). When you have a fever the individual is often sweating, and becomes very pale, this can also lead to embarrassment when in public (Strube, 1994). Vomiting can also have environment effects on the individual, as they cannot attend work due to being ill, this causes the individual to lose money, if the individual has children they need to be cared for, and there can then be extra costs that occur from extra babysitting or day-care duties. Laws Influence On Congress Essays - United States Congress, Law
Law's Influence On Congress The majority of congress today has a legal background. This legal background slows down congress. Although the heavy legal background of congress slows down the congressional process it does provide for better laws. The strong influence of the legal profession in government is to the countrys benefit. The majority of politicians today are lawyers. For the most part, it has always been this way. Since the very beginning of the United States government there has been a ver distinct legal background. The majority of the founding fathers of our government and some of the most influential politicians in our government have been lawyers. For instance, Thomas Jefferson, one of the most famous founding fathers, the writer of the declaration of independence, was a lawyer. Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt both studied law in college. Even our current president today, William Clinton studied law. As early as the beginning of this country, the roots of lawyers in government has been there. A lawyers training, and education, when applied to congress, slow things down. Lawyers are taught to question things from every angle possible, to look at it every way. By looking at things from all perspectives, politicians are usually indecisive, in fear of upsetting their constituents and party peers. A lot of this over-questioning works out to the benefit of the common constituent. By looking at things from every angle, a congressman can see if by passing a piece of legislation will it hurt any one specific group. This tends to keep a congressman from voting for that particular thing. Another thing a lawyer is taught to do is to prove something beyond reasonable doubt. By trying to make sure a bill is acceptable, beyond reasonable doubt, is very tough. A lot of work is required to do this, and most of the time a congress man will not vote in favor of a bill unless he or she Is convinced, beyond reasonable doubt that it is necessary and proper. Although it seems a little unnecessary, the over investigation of bills benefits citizens. The heavy influence of lawyers in congress does in fact slow down the processes, but it does provide for a better outcome when bills are finally passed. By slowly considering laws and tediously reviewing them, the time is taken to make sure that a bill being past is in the best interest of the country. They slowly go over the bill at each step and over analyze it. By doing this it prevents congress from just passing a law merely on impulse, without very careful review. In conclusion, the legal background of many congress-people slows down the speed at which laws are made. By slowing the process down better laws are made. Even though lawyers over analyze bills, their legal background gives them clear insight as to how a law will be implemented into the court systems and everyday life. Although the congressional process is drastically slowed by the legal influence, the constituent gains greatly from the consideration put into every law. Government Essays

Disrespect essays
Disrespect essays When television first emerged, sitcoms like Leave It To Beaver portrayed loving children who would have never dreamed of disobeying someone with authority. But as we flip through the channels today, we see pictures of children screaming at their parents, students hitting teachers, and juveniles running from the law. Despite the fact that these scenarios are seen on television, this kind of behavior is a reality in todays society. Perhaps this because young people have a lack of respect for authority figures. It seems as if more and more talk shows, such as The Maury Povich Show, are having topics such as My Out of Control Teen and Send My Daughter/Son to Boot Camp. Children as young as nine years old run out on stage screaming obscenities to the audience as well as to their parents. They think that the disrespect they are displaying towards their parents is cool. In all actuality these obnoxious displays of disrespect are not cool, and if things do not change now, consequences for their disrespectful behavior could follow in the future. Disrespecting parents can eventually lead to problems in classroom settings. In the classroom students are starting to lose all respect for teachers. We repeatedly hear about children hitting, cursing at, and not paying attention to their teachers. Since parents have no control over their children, teachers usually have little control over them as well. This often forces teachers to put serious accounts of disrespect into the hands of law enforcement. Because parents and teachers can not control juveniles, the police and other law enforcement are expected to try and handle the problem. But the police can not always solve the problem. Children are constantly disrespecting law enforcement as well. New reports regularly report stories of juveniles disobeying police orders and going as far as fi ...

Definition and Examples of Premodifiers in English
Definition and Examples of Premodifiers in English In English grammar, a premodifier is a modifier that precedes the head of a noun phrase. Most often, premodifiers are adjectives (a beautiful day), participles (broken heart), or other nouns (time management). Premodifers are sometimes referred to as epithets. As noted by Douglas Biber et al., Premodifiers and postmodifiers are distributed in the same way across registers: rare in conversation, very common in informational writing (Longman Student Grammar of Spoken and Written English, 2002). Examples and Observations The next morning, Lonsdale was spotted coming out of a nearby house.Indeed, it is a commonplace observation that a truly intelligent youth is aided but little by the average college education.(H.L. Mencken)We have enjoyed some extremely varied and consistently excellent performances at this theater. The road deteriorated until it resembled a casually discarded trail of large and sharp stones. The problem is not just our junkie-like behavior; it is that there is another energy junkie in the neighborhood with a growing habit- China.(Ed Schultz, Killer Politics: How Big Money and Bad Politics Are Destroying the Great American Middle Class. Hyperion, 2010)Younkers was the most elegant, up-to-the-minute, briskly efficient, satisfyingly urbane place in Iowa.(Bill Bryson, The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid. Broadway Books, 2006) Four Major Types of Premodifiers There are four major structural types of premodification in English: - general adjective: big pillow, new pants, official negotiations, political isolation- -ed participial modifier: restricted area, improved growth, fixed volume, established tradition- -ing participial modifier: flashing lights, growing problem, exhausting task- noun: staff room, pencil case, market forces, maturation period In addition, . . . determiners, genitives, and numerals precede the head and modifiers, and help to specify the reference of noun phrases. Premodifiers are condensed structures. They use fewer words than postmodifiers to convey roughly the same information. Most adjectival and participial premodifiers can be rephrased as a longer, postmodifying relative clause . . .. (Douglas Biber, Susan Conrad, and Geoffrey Leech, Longman Grammar of Spoken and Written English. Pearson, 2002) Premodifiers and Compounds Premodifying elements in prehead position are often used as qualifiers, which means that they restrict the reference of the head of the noun phrase to a subset of the things it denotes. In many cases the resultant expression is fairly permanent, and is used regularly. Eventually the meaning of the combined expression may differ from the meaning that is derivable from the meaning of its constituents. In this case the term compound or nominal compound is often used. . . . (29) lighthouse- light music(30) software- soft option(31) hothouse- hot house(32) blackbird- black bird(33) darkroom- dark room The first element in these examples is always the compound which is contrasted to the second element that is not usually regarded as a compound. Compounds tend to have a primary stress on the first element, whereas noun phrase combinations are written as two words. (Andreas H. Jucker, Social Stylistics: Syntactic Variation in British Newspapers. Mouton de Gruyter, 1992) The Problem of Stacking: Excessive Premodification A particularly disturbing feature of scientific writing is excessive premodification- the piling up of adjectives, or words being used adjectivally, in front of a noun: a mobile hopper fed compressed air operated grit blasting machine. . . . As a general rule, we recognize that listeners find it difficult to cope with the delivery of so many qualifications before the main noun. So we put some of our modifiers before it, and most of them after it. . . . a mobile grit-blasting machine, fed from a hopper and operated by compressed air (John Kirkman, Good Style: Writing For Science And Technology, 2nd ed. Routledge, 2005)

Real or imaginary child with disabilities into a general education Essay
Real or imaginary child with disabilities into a general education class - Essay Example The most suitable model to use is a Response to Intervention (RTI) model. This an academic intervention method used to help children with needs such as difficulty learning or learning disabilities. It is an early intervention, which prevents failure in academics by measuring progress of such a child frequently, and inducing interventions that are research based to instruct and aide children with such difficulties. Some children do not respond to such interventions, and their problem is deep rooted in that the children could have disability stemming from the biological make-up (Vaughn, 2010). Unlike the discrepancy model that is common for the normal children with ability, this model will be an alternative to Frank who is in need of supplementary education. Personnel The personnel who will handle the process will be three normal classroom teachers, who will teach mathematics, a language subject, and a science subject respectively. The teachers who will handle Frank will be individuals who are highly qualified and trained adequately to implement this model. They will be individuals who understand Frank better and will be able to connect with him in order to get the required results. The selected teachers will compile a comprehensive report within a period of five weeks and will use the report to provide the child with the supplementary three-tier program. This is as recommended by Phaneuf (2008). Accommodations and modifications Accommodations and modifications will focus on changing the teaching techniques, and assessment on Frankââ¬â¢s progress. The accommodations the teachers will consider into the curriculum include one-on-one quizzes, group discussion with the other children, large print materials to enable Frank see and comprehend well, colored charts, extended or shortened assignments and assessments. They will also use pictures, animation, colors, and sounds to help Frank grasp and understand the content quickly. Some of the modifications that the teac hers will consider include, changing the grading scale particularly if Frank fails to compete with the rest and introduction of special education and special education teacher in tier three if Frank utterly fails to improve. Strategies School screening Assessment This is the first strategy that will help identify Frankââ¬â¢s strengths and weaknesses. Screenings will last for a period of five weeks (Phaneuf 2008: 54).The first thing the teachers will carry out is to assess whether he requires such interventions. This will take place in a normal classroom where he will get academic surveillance. This will enable evaluation of the Frankââ¬â¢s performance based on the basic subjects in the curriculum such as mathematics, sciences, and languages. His ability to perform tasks such as reading and comprehending, solving mathematical sums and carrying out practical tasks will undergo evaluation and the report will contribute significantly towards identifying his strengths and weaknesse s. The teaching will follow the curriculum of the classroom. It will be research based, one tested in the field and proved effective and containing all the fundamentals of teaching a normal child with able faculties. This screening will establish a specific criterion, which will rank the Frankââ¬â¢s performance in various categories. The percentile score will show whether his performance is poor, average, above average or excellent. Comparison of the

The American Clock Essay -- Literary Analysis,ÃÂ Arthur Miller
Arthur Miller is a social dramatist who reflects his outlook on the US government, in many of his plays. The Great Depression had a lasting influence on him, which he portrays in ââ¬Å"The American Clockâ⬠. Because he was so deeply impacted by the Depression and the governmentââ¬â¢s role in it, Miller mocks the idealism of the American dream in ââ¬Å"Death of a Salesmanâ⬠and ââ¬Å"A View from the Bridgeâ⬠. Due to his unjust condemnation as a Communist during the McCarthy Era he accuses the faulty court system as culpable. Miller creates John Proctor in, ââ¬Å"The Crucibleâ⬠as a victim during the Salem Witch Trials, to represent himself during the Red Scare. In his plays, Millerââ¬â¢s characters deal with injustices in order to express Millerââ¬â¢s view that American law is artificial. Miller exploits law as a common theme in his plays to express his outlook about its corruption. He portrays injustice done to the ââ¬Ëcommon man and the confinement of America in ââ¬Å"All My Sonsâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Death of a Salesmanâ⬠. Miller reflects his political views in his works, by writing about individualism and his experiences. In many of his works, Arthur Miller expresses contempt for the government, which he holds responsible for his childhood poverty, during the Great Depression, and adult persecutions. The Great Depression had an immense impact on Arthur Miller, which he reflects in ââ¬Å"The American Clockâ⬠, among other works. After the stock market crash of 1929, the Miller familyââ¬â¢s financial comfort drastically changed. Lannone illustrates their extreme change in lifestyle, ââ¬Å"The Depression struck the family hardâ⬠¦the garment business of Millerââ¬â¢s father began to declineâ⬠¦the family relocated to a dead-end street in the Gravesend neighborhood of Brooklyn, where their once-prosperous life became ... ...rays injustice done to the ââ¬Ëcommon man and the confinement of America in ââ¬Å"All My Sonsâ⬠. In ââ¬Å"All My Sonsâ⬠, Joe attempts to defend his actions during the war, ââ¬Å"Who worked for nothing in that war? Itââ¬â¢s dollars and cents, war and peaceâ⬠¦ half the goddamn country is gotta go if I goâ⬠(Miller 150). Here, Miller portrays his view that society is corrupt. This, he explains, is due to big businesses and the governmentââ¬â¢s negative influence and failure to aid small businesses, like his fatherââ¬â¢s during the Great Depression, which failed. Joe says, ââ¬Å"Thatââ¬â¢s the way they do George. A little man makes a mistake and they hang him up by the thumbs. The big ones become the ambassadorsâ⬠(Miller 411). The ââ¬Ëbig onesââ¬â¢ represent big businesses and the government, which is evident in Millerââ¬â¢s intentional use of the word ââ¬Ëambassadorââ¬â¢ to create a governmental connotation.

3 functions of law Essay
What is a law? A law is a rule of conduct, established by government, for society to follow and obey. Laws have been around in civilizations for many, many years. The first know set of laws was written by King Hammurabi. Hammurabi ruled in Babylon, from 1792- 1750 B.C.E. The Code of Hammurabi which is the first written set of laws known to mankind, set the stage for all laws written, even today. You may ask why do we need laws in our society? The meaning, and function of laws in a democratic society is to establish rule of conduct, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, and to provide protection for society. In society we live with, and interact with others, and we need laws to stop, and to control unavoidable conflicts and problems that occur every day. That is why we need to establish rules of conduct. The Highway Traffic Acts make a minimum driving age, speed limit, mandatory seat belts, these laws control problems because they make the roads safer for all of us and therefore many lives are saved. The Copyright Act also prevents conflicts and problems because it prevents other people from ââ¬Ëcopyingââ¬â¢ other peoples or groups work. Therefore there are many less cases that go to court because of the Copyright Act, and that prevents problems. We need laws to protect our rights and freedoms. Laws are needed to protect our most cherished thing, and that is our rights, and our freedom. We need to have our rights and freedom protected by others, because we cannot do it ourselves, that is why we have the RCMP, and the provincial police to protect us. The police guarantee public safety and protection of life. Criminal law also protects our rights and freedoms because they make it illegal for others to do things like assault and harass us. The criminal code protects us the best of all because others know what is wrong, and if they disobey the criminal code, then they will be punished for it. Lastly we need laws to provide protection in society. This means that we need laws to protect ourselves from others who try to take advantage of us. For example there are contract laws, they protect us form storeowners and managers who might try to take advantage of young people, and make them work with no brakes. There are also labor laws, they assure us that we will workà in safe and clean working conditions, and that we make a minimum wage. There are also laws that protect handicap people, and assure them the necessities of life. The meaning and function of law in society is to establish rules if conduct, protect rights and freedoms, and to provide safety for society. The charter of rights and freedoms says, ââ¬Å"Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.â⬠What this means is that everyone is free, has rights, and cannot be deprived of that by anyone. The laws are made to protect us, and our rights. Laws are necessary in society so that we can live our lives in peace and happiness.

Essay on A Small, Good Thing, by Raymond Carver - 1956 Words
The short story, A Small, Good Thing by Raymond Carver tells of two American parents dealing with their sons hospitalization and death as the result of a hit-and-run car accident. The insensitive actions of their local baker add to their anger and confusion, yet by the end of the story, leave them with a sense of optimism and strength. With such content, Carver runs the risk of coming across as sentimental; however, this is not the case, and the anguish of the parents and their shock at the situation is expressed with dignity and understatement. It is a story with a broad appeal: the simple prose makes it accessible to a wide audience, while the complex themes and issues make it appealing to the educated reader. Written in Carversâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Although the doctors and hospital staff continue to reassure Ann and her husband that their son will be fine - no coma, Dr. Francis had emphasized, no coma, when he saw the alarm in the parentsÃâ eyes - Scotty still does not wake up, and the situation becomes increasingly serious. At the same time, the parents are tormented by late-night phone calls from the baker - Your Scotty, I got him ready for youÃâ¦Did you forget him? - whose mysterious messages lead them to believe he is a psychopath, or the hit-and-run driver who put Scotty into a coma. Then, abruptly, Scotty dies - the doctors called it a hidden occlusion and said it was a one-in-a-million circumstance. Numb and shaken, the parents return home - but after another taunting prank call, Ann realizes that it is the baker who has been calling, and confronts him in his store; he is instantly remorseful when he learns of the childs death, and offers Ann and Howard some cinnamon rolls - a small, good thing in a time like this. His empathy helps the parents to deal with Scottys death and to find some small measure of hope for the future. On a deeper level, A Small, Good Thing is concerned with more complex themes and ideas. Central is the idea of communication, and lack of communication. Carver conveys the Weiss family as generally good people. Problems with Education Essay - 1529 Words
Problems with Education Education is a very important aspect of the lives of all people all over the world. What we learn, not just in the classroom, shapes who we are. We take our education everywhere we go. We use it when talking to our buddies about sports or music, we use it while solving a math problem, we use our education while debating with our family whether or not we should watch TV or go to the movies. Our education is the foundation of who we are, since every decision we make and every thought we think is dependent on what we know. Imagine how different the world would be if everyone craved learning to such a degree that at lunch tables all over the world the topic of conversation isnt who likes who, or how drunkâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦School is also coercive, disciplinary and taught by many unmotivated teachers, so school being mandatory is just icing on the cake. Teachers and the school system completely control the way things are run and leave little room for students to do thing s their way. Teachers control what they teach, how to teach, how to discipline, what is assigned, etc. Students need to have more of a say in the way things are run since they are the majority. More freedom in decisions would create a more comfortable environment and students would thus have an easier time learning. There is also stress on a lack of communication since school is coercive. It is hard to reach a person if one doesn?t have a relationship with that person, and one way to deal with this is through addressing the students to hear their ideas and views on what direction should be taken. School is very similar to an oligarchy where the faculty is the monarch and students are the populous. It should be more of a democracy where all the students have a say in what happens, but how often is there a vote as to class and school decisions? The current curriculum is one in which a teacher says ?jump? and a student responds with ?how high.? And if a student responds with anything different, than they are reprimanded or punished. The changes in the global pattern of tourism Free Essays
The global pattern of tourism has changed drastically over the last fifty years. Changes such as the number of global tourist arrivals, distances travelled, and the cost of travel have meant that ââ¬Ëtourismââ¬â¢ is today one of the worldââ¬â¢s most important industries. There are a number of reasons for this change, for example, technology and social situation. We will write a custom essay sample on The changes in the global pattern of tourism or any similar topic only for you Order Now In the seventeenth century, doctors recommended benefits of water, which triggered the building of spas. People began taking relaxing trips to these spas. When the industrial revolution struck, huge changes in transport took place, such as better rail links in the United Kingdom. These railway lines provided links to expand. Also, people began to earn more money, and with disposable income, annual holidays became increasingly popular. During World War 2, people were not allowed on beaches. Once the war had finished, people celebrated by going to the beach. This made seaside resorts become much more popular. In 1970, the jet plane carried 307 million passengers. By 2006, this had increased to a huge 2. billion! This shows just how much tourism has increased in the past half century. In 1950, international tourist arrivals were only 20 million. In 2005, it was measured to be over 700 million! Europe in particular was responsible for a considerable amount of this increase, approximately 400 million. In 2005, there were 441,528 thousand international tourist arrivals. The Mediterranean was responsible for 36% of this number. This shows that southern Spain is a very popular tourist destination. I think this is due to the climate in the Med. The Mediterranean is well known for its hot, dry summers, which naturally attract visitors. Most arrivals here are on holiday for leisure purposes, rather than business. It is not just in Europe, however, that tourism has increased. In 1990, the world saw 439 million international tourist arrivals. In 2005, this has increased to 806 million. This shows an average annual increase of 3. 3%. There are many reasons for this increase. Economic factors, such as rising incomes, decreasing costs of the flight itself ââ¬â due to the expansion of budget airlines. Also, many airlines have introduced reward schemes, or loyalty bonuses, which are appealing to the customer. Social factors, such as the increase of the number of days paid leave workers can take. This gives people more spare time for a holiday. Many students in recent years, after finishing school, which to take a ââ¬Ëgap yearââ¬â¢ to go travelling, before going to university, or getting a job. Finally, there are also political reasons for which tourism has increased. Some governments invest heavily in advertising campaigns to encourage tourism. Also, international sporting events, such as the world cup or the Olympics, attract millions of people from all over the globe. Forecasts from the World Tourism Organisation are showing an approximate 650 million increase in global arrivals between 2007 and 2020. Another noticeable change is the distance people are travelling to go on holiday. In 1841, Thomas cook introduce the first ever package holiday, from Leicester to Loughborough, which was only 12 miles away. These travellers attended temperance meetings. Fifty years ago, tourist arrivals in the Middle East and Africa were virtually none existent, as the travel links simply were not there. I believe one of the main reasons that tourist arrivals have gone up so considerably is due to the travel links expanding. Thanks to the invention of the train, Thomas Cook was able to expand his holidays. However, in 1970, with the invention of the jet plane, mass tourism began. There was no limit to where people could go on holiday, so the distances travelled dramatically increased here. People travel to places such as Spain, specifically the Mediterranean, as it is only 725 miles, which is approximately a 2 hour flight. Today; people can travel literally across the world, from London to Sydney, a distance of 10,552 miles. The third main change in the pattern of tourism over the last fifty years is the cost of travel. People first began taking holidays after the industrial revolution, as they had disposable income. Although prices for travel such as trains were cheaper in the 1950ââ¬â¢s, people have a much higher income in todayââ¬â¢s society, so they are much more affordable. In the early 1990ââ¬â¢s, the first budget airline was introduced. They offered low cost flights in exchange for passenger services, such as in-flight meals and extra leg room. This appealed to many working class people, who wished to go on holiday for less. Flights on budget airlines can be extremely cheap, especially if you fly on an unpopular time and date. You can purchase some flights from the UK to Ireland as cheap as 1p plus VAT. Return flights to Spain can be as cheap as i20. Package holidays also made holidays more appealing to people who were not as well off as some. They combine the cost of flight, accommodation and travel, and are usually with a group of several other tourists. Package holidays range from your typical relaxing fortnight on the beach in Majorca, to cockroach races in Brisbane! At the story bridge hotel in Brisbane, every January 26th, they race cockroaches! This tradition began in 1981, when to drunken men argued that the cockroaches from their part of town were fastest. Today, people literally come from all over the world just to race there cockroaches! Also, many people today choose to go on ââ¬Å"all inclusiveâ⬠holidays. This is when the holiday resort provides all food and drink in the price. This is appealing to people as when on holiday, many people do not wish to cook or worrying about finding places to eat. All inclusive holidays start from just i290 to Ibiza; this makes luxury more affordable for the working class. Recently, ecotourism has become more popular. This is when people travel to less economically developed countries such as Kenya, or India. They volunteer once in the country, often doing conservation work. Flights to these areas are not very expensive, as they are less popular. Fifty years ago, few people travelled far to go on holiday, as it was so expensive. Overall, these are the three key changes in the pattern of tourism. A dramatic increase in the number of global tourist arrivals, an increase in the distance travelled, and cost of travel being more affordable, have meant that tourism is very different today than it was fifty years ago. I feel that the main catalyst for increasing tourism in general, was the invention of the jet plane. Carrying 2. 1 billion passengers in 2006, it is clearly responsible for a large part of transporting these tourists. Of course, another reason for the patterns in tourism is the fact that people are earning more money. Thanks to this disposable income, more people can afford to treat themselves to a holiday. I also feel there are now more incentives to go on holiday today, such as these ââ¬Å"packageâ⬠, or ââ¬Å"all inclusiveâ⬠holidays, as these save the consumer money. Fifty years ago, people used to travel 12 miles down the road to go on holiday, today they travel to the other side of the world. I feel this shows just how big these changes in the pattern of tourism are. How to cite The changes in the global pattern of tourism, Papers

4G and Beyond Bringing Networks
Question: Discuss about the 4G and Beyond for Bringing Networks. Answer: Introduction 4G refers to the instances where a mobile device can be able to exchange mobile data at speeds exceeding 100mbs. Previous technologies were much slower, and did not prioritise data transmission. With the increase of 4G mobile devises and networks, it has been suggested that the era of pervasive computing, where connections across geographically dispersed areas will be seamless, is a possibility. 4G is a label which, like its predecessors, has been applied to both hardware and mobile networks alike. This paper will look at the background, status and expected impact of 4G networks (Berndt, 2008). The initial mobile devices and networks prioritised voice over all other services, including data. As the capacity increased, and data became a more important aspect of consumers demand, mobile networks companies and mobile device producers moved away from voice, to focus on other services as well. The first generation devices and were based on analogue protocol, and were almost entirely focused on voice. The second generation products were a drastic step form this. While having increased coverage, the 2G service was able to integrate digital standards for the first time. However, the service remained essentially voice based. Where the 1G phone could communicate at speeds averaging at a partly 2.4kbps, 2G could transmit data at 64kbps (Berndt, 2008). 3G was still designed for voice, though with a stronger emphasis on data than the rest. With 3G, firms could speak of being able to provide mobile broadband, a term that had not been used to refer to mobile technology up to that time. Data speeds saw a massive improvement yet again, jumping to an average of 2mbps. 4G has however redefined mobile communications. Coming at a time when more and more phones will be smart, and therefore specially tailored for data based services, 4G is specially designed for data, with voice communication being relegated for the first time. The technology is truly broadband, and uses IP protocols. It has speeds that average 100mpbs (Berndt, 2008). Mobile phone users, and especially those who use Smartphones, have become ever more demanding on the quality of service they require form their network providers and device manufacturers. Among other things, the market increasingly wants value for money, with smart phones being cheaper and more accessible. They also expect to be given support, and better tariffs. More importantly though, the market demands exemplary network performance, sometimes equated to increased connection speeds, which 4G networks are able to provide Wilkinson, 2011). While 4G has become ever more common around the world, it has also been used by businesses as a marketing gimmick. For instance, the first phone billed as a 4G phone is likely to have been 3G, sue to the level of mobile technology advancement at the time (2010). While there are several genuine 4G technologies today networks and devices, it is also likely that a large chunk of those who claim to be 4G are in actual sense other categories of 3G. Despite these issues, 4G technology has continued to advance and become even better (Sauter, 2013). Since the inception of 4G networks in early 2010s, there has been remarkable progress in improving mobile phone communications. As indicated before mobile communication is increasingly data based, with voice communication either been carried out digitally, or becoming less important on the analogue platforms. In the near future, 4G networks are expected to improve their speeds, reaching up to 1gbps. This will also be available to lower mobility users. It will be much simpler to use HTML, JAVA and other computing tools and applications using this faster version of 4G (Wilkinson, 2011). Conclusion Mobile phone technology has seen improving fast since the first mobile phone was unveiled in 1983. Over the years, mobile phone technologies have gradually shifted from voice only to taking on more services, including data. This has ushered in the era of 4G, a technology billed as having the fastest data transmission rates ever. However, this is only the start. In future, the speed is expected to be even greater. This will be motivated by the desire to satisfy customers, who demand faster speeds and greater support from network operators and device manufacturers. References Berndt, H. (2008). Macbeth Symbolism Essays (1579 words) - English-language Films
Macbeth Symbolism With its eye-opening plot and interesting cast of characters, William Shakespeare's play, Macbeth is one of the greatest works one could ever read. But, above all, the aspect of the play is most impressive and overwhelming with imagery and symbolism that Shakespeare so brilliantly uses. Throughout the play , the author depicts various types of imagery and symbolism instances that , eventually , lead to the downfall of the main character , Macbeth. Instances of imagery and symbolism are seen throughout the play. Imagery and symbolism are unavoidable features in William Shakespeare's Macbeth. One of the most prominent symbolic factors in the play is the presence of blood. It has been noted that the presence of blood "increases the feelings or fear , horror , and pain" (Spurgeon , Pg. 20). From the appearance of the bloody sergeant in the second scene of the to the very last scene , there is a continued vision of blood all throughout the play. The imagery of blood seems to affect almost all the characters in the play. It affects Lady Macbeth in the scene in which she is found sleepwalking talking to herself after the murders of Duncan and Banquo : "Here's the smell of the blood still. All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand." [V. i. 50-1] Also , the blood imagery is present in the "weird sisters" , or witches. Most evidently , it is present in act four , scene one , when Macbeth visits the witches to seek their insight and his fortune for the future. He is shown three apparitions , one of which is a bloody child that commands him to "Be bloody , bold and resolute : laugh to scorn..." [IV. i. 79] Although blood imagery deals with almost all the characters of the play , no where is it more profound than with the protagonist himself , Macbeth. In the very beginning of the play , it is reported by the sergeant that Macbeth and Banquo are "[bathing] in reeking wounds." [I. ii. 42] Again , blood is found haunting Macbeth in act two , scene one of the play , in which a visionary dagger is stained with "gouts of blood." In the same act and scene , after the murder Duncan , Macbeth cries declares that nothing , even "great Neptune's oceans" , will be able to cleanse the blood that stains his hand : "Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood clean from my hand? No , this my hand will rather the multitudinous seas incarnadine , making the green one red." [II. ii. 58-60] Next , the image of blood is induced when Macbeth calls upon the "bloody and invisible hand" of night to help the murderers he has hired carry out their assassination of Banquo and his son , Fleance. Then , Macbeth realizes that "blood will have blood" and that his murderous plots will all come to and end with his death. Finally , at the end of the banquet scene , Macbeth confesses that he is "in blood , stepp'd in so far that , should [he] wade no more , returning [would be] as tedious as to go o'er." [III. iv. 136-7] Through all these instances of blood symbolism and imagery , it is obvious that "Macbeth is about blood." (Muir , Pg. 271 ) Yet another form of symbolism used in the play is that of unnaturalness. Throughout the work , it is used in the constant referral to Macbeth's crime of murder and emphasizes the fact it is not natural and , in turn , is a"convulsion of nature." (Spurgeon , Pg. 20) Although powerful , the idea of unnaturalness occurs mostly in one part of the play , immediately before and after the murder of Duncan. Macbeth , obviously bothered by the act that he had just committed , states how Duncan's wounds "look'd like a breach in nature for ruin's wasteful entrance." [II. iii. 118] Then , Macbeth continues on by saying that he had "murdered sleep" , another unnatural occurrence, "I heard a voice cry , ?Sleep no more! Macbeth does murther sleep...Glamis hath murder'd sleep , and therefore Cawdor shall sleep no more. Macbeth shall sleep no more.'" [II. ii. 26-36] Next , the unnatural events of the night continue when Macduff and Lenox , Duncan's sons , tell Macbeth of the "strange events" of the night, "The night has been unruly. Where we lay , our chimneys
